Having suddenly found this new and exciting technique of processing photos called HDR, i can't stop experimenting with it. The possibilities are endless, from a beautiful natural exposure right though to an outrageous comic book, cartoonish style. I am hooked.

Renault Formula One Test
I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Renault F1 test at Duxford Aerodrome last year. There is very little testing allowed in F1 now but the teams do a number of straight line test during the season. Last year Renault conducted these at Duxford Aerodrome near Cambridge.
Duxford is also a great place to visit as it is home to the Imperial War Museum and has many stunning displays, both indoors and outside. You also have the opportunity to have a flight in either a Tiger Moth or a Dragon Rapide, we chose the Dragon Rapide. Well worth a visit, check out their website. http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.55

Waterway to Orbit by James Vernacotola
Found this amazing image on the internet today, an opportunity to take a photo like this doesn't come along every day. Great job James.
The 32nd shuttle mission to the International Space Station, STS-130, left planet Earth on February 8. Its early morning launch to orbit fromKennedy Space Center 's pad 39A followed the long, graceful, eastward arc seen in this 2 minute time exposure. Well composed, the dramatic picture also shows the arc's watery reflection from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge , in Ponte Vedra , Florida , about 115 miles north of the launch site. In the celestial background a waning crescent Moon and stars left their own short trails against the still dark sky. The brightest star trail near the moon was made by red supergiant Antares, alpha star of the constellation Scorpius.

Iranian Demonstration in Manchester
I was watching a program about repression in Iran last night and how the internet and Twitter in particular are still really the most effective way of getting information out of the country. It reminded me that i took some interesting photos of a small demonstration in Manchester when the troubles in Iran over the election were at their height back in 2009.

HDR Images
Just spent the last couple of hours messing around with Photomatix Pro and trying to create a couple of single shot HDR images, I am not convinced that i have the knack of this stuff yet but will persevere with it.
I have a nice warm feeling this morning as Manchester United had a good win yesterday and i am hoping that Arsenal will beat Chelsea this afternoon.

More Photos From Back In The day
It's amazing what you find when you start looking. I have now come across a few photos from the mid 1970's when a couple of my friends started racing in Formula Ford 1600 in England. The car is an Elden Formula Ford and yes we did think those clothes were fashionable back then.
